Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some of the questions I get asked most often about the Mindfulness for Busy People course. If your question isn't covered here, shoot me an email and I'll get back to you ASAP.
Q. Will I have access immediately?
A. When you enrol in the course, you will receive your login to the course within an hour and have access to PREP WEEK. Three days later, you will unlock Week One and then, for the rest of the program, the content will be released week by week so you aren't overwhelmed.
Q. Will I continue to have access after the course has finished?
A. Yep, you will have access for as long as this website exists and you can take the course as many times as you like. The first time you do the course, the content will be released week by week but once it's all unlocked, it stays unlocked forever.
Q. How much time will I have to devote each week to get the most out of the course?
A. Each week there will be 1-3 audio lessons (around 10min each) that you can stream or download. There will also be a weekly meditation anywhere between 12-25min long, which I will ask you to do as often as possible - daily if you can manage it! This is the most important part of the course.
In addition, to support your learning there are some brief handouts and a bunch of written exercises that you can choose to do or not, depending on how much time you have.
I encourage you to participate as fully as possible to get the most out of this program. If you were to do all of the assigned reading and worksheets, you could expect to spend 30 minutes or so each day and a little extra on the weekends to catch up on the written stuff.
Q. What software do I need?
A. You can participate in the course from any device or computer as long as you have internet access! Note however, that Apple devices will not allow you to download mp3 files straight to iTunes. If you would like to download the lessons and meditations, you will need to have access to a computer. From there you can download the files, add to your iTunes library and play on your iPad or iPhone. Some people use apps to bypass this problem but you'd have to do your own research about that.
Q. Can I call or email you for individual support?
A. The course cost does not allow for individual coaching from me, however I will be in the Facebook group regularly and very happy to answer any questions you have or support with challenges you may face. We all love to hear your experience so I'd encourage you to get active in the FB group as others will have the same experiences as you. I will post regular Facebook Live events where we can interact face to face.
Q. I have a diagnosed mental illness (anxiety or depression). Will this course help me?
A. Mindfulness is proven to be vastly effective in supporting emotional and psychological wellbeing. This course, however, is not intended to be a treatment for mental illness. If you are currently experiencing a depressive episode or high levels of anxiety, I'd recommend you wait until you are well before participating. You will get the most out of the course if you take it when you are feeling well and can then use it to implement strategies to help you STAY well.
